Who We Are

Ontario Finishing provides renovation, refinishing, and painting services for homes and businesses in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Hamilton, Oakville, Etobicoke, Vaughan, and surrounding areas.

Throughout these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Ontario Finishing. “You” means the person or business hiring us.

Our Services

Our work includes kitchen renovations and cabinet refinishing, interior and exterior painting, commercial painting, floor and stair renewal, laminate and quartz countertops, vinyl flooring, floor tiling, and staining.

Your written quote will explain exactly what is included in your project. If you are unsure about something, please check with us before the work starts rather than assuming it is included.

Quotes and Pricing

Our pricing is based on the information you provide and what we can reasonably see during our inspection. Unless we state otherwise, quotes are valid for [30] days.

Sometimes a project changes once work begins. You may ask for additional work, or we may uncover an existing condition that needs to be addressed before we can continue.

In either case, we’ll explain what is involved and how it could affect the cost or timeline. We’ll confirm any changes with you in writing before carrying out additional work.

Deposits and Payment

A deposit of [insert deposit] may be required to secure your project and cover the purchase of materials.

Any remaining payments will follow the schedule set out in your quote. Unless your agreement says otherwise, the final balance is due once the agreed work has been completed.

We’ll let you know which payment methods are available when you book your project.

Scheduling and Access

We need safe and clear access to the areas where our team will be working. Before we arrive, please move valuables, fragile items, and personal belongings away from the work area.

We’ll do our best to keep your project on schedule, but timelines can change. Material delays, weather, approvals, and conditions that were not visible before work started can all affect the schedule.

Weather can be especially important for exterior projects. Make colour and finish selections on time to avoid unnecessary delays.

Surfaces, Colours and Finishes

The condition of the existing surface can make a big difference to the final result. Older coatings, grease, moisture, previous repairs, and everyday wear may affect how paint, stain, or another finish looks or adheres.

If we find a concern before the work begins, we’ll point it out and discuss it with you.

Colours can also look different depending on the lighting and the surface they are applied to. For that reason, we recommend reviewing samples in the actual space and approving your colour before work starts.

When working with wood and other natural materials, slight differences in grain, texture, and sheen are normal. Every piece of wood is different, so we can't always guarantee an exact match.

Permits, Trades and Hazardous Materials

Depending on the project, permits, inspections, or licensed trades such as electricians and plumbers may be required.

Where this work is included in our agreed scope, we can help coordinate it. However, the appropriate local authorities handle permit approvals and inspection schedules.

Please tell us if your property was built before the 1980s or if you know of any lead paint, asbestos, mould, or other potentially hazardous materials on the property.

If we come across a condition that makes it unsafe for us to continue, we’ll stop the affected work and talk with you about what happens next.

Consumer Rights

When an agreement is signed in your home, or somewhere away from our business premises, Ontario consumer protection laws may give you a cooling-off period or other rights.

Any rights that apply to your particular agreement will be set out or addressed in your written contract.

Warranty

We take pride in the quality of our workmanship and stand behind the work we complete.

Your quote or contract will state the warranty period that applies to your project: [insert workmanship warranty period].

Materials, appliances, and other products used during the project may have separate manufacturer's warranties.

Our workmanship warranty does not cover problems resulting from misuse, moisture or water damage, damage caused by someone else, changes made after we finish the work, or normal wear and tear.

Damage and Liability

We take reasonable care while working in your home or business. If you believe something was damaged as a result of our work, please let us know as soon as you can so we have an opportunity to inspect it and discuss the situation with you.

We are not responsible for damage that already existed, hidden defects or conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work began, or problems caused by circumstances outside our control.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a project will not exceed the amount you paid for that project.

Your Responsibilities

A smooth project also depends on your cooperation. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information about the project.
• Giving us reasonable access to the areas where work will take place.
• Moving or securing valuables and personal belongings.
• Keeping pets safely away from the work area.
• Making required selections, decisions, and approvals within the agreed timeframe.

Delays in providing information, access, or approvals may affect the project schedule.
